The Peperomia caperata 'Quito' is characterized by its richly textured leaves that display a range of gold, orange, and red hues with a metallic shine. To ensure the brightest colors, it's crucial to place the plant in areas with bright indirect light. However, the plant can survive in lower light conditions, although the colors will be less vibrant.
Peperomias are an excellent choice for a low-maintenance houseplant, typically only needing to be watered once a week depending on light exposure and temperature. It's best to use the bottom-watering method by setting the plant on a water-filled dish, letting it absorb the necessary moisture, and emptying the dish after 20 minutes. Avoid leaving any standing water in the dish since the roots are susceptible to rot if they remain wet for extended periods.
