Philodendron Ring of Fire Care
The Philodendron Ring of Fire is a stunning, slow-growing plant with vibrant, heart-shaped leaves that display shades of green, orange, and red. It can be trained to climb up a support, reaching heights of over 5 feet, or allowed to spread as a self-heading variety up to 3 feet wide with leaves up to 2 feet long.
Lighting: Bright, indirect light is ideal. Can handle morning direct sun and low light, but avoid harsh afternoon sun to prevent leaf scorch.
Watering: Water every 1-2 weeks. Adjust frequency based on light levels (more water in bright light, less in low light). Make sure to fully saturate the soil when you do water.
Soil: Use a well-draining mix rich in organic matter. Consider a blend of peat moss, perlite, vermiculite, or orchid bark.
Support: This plant is a climber and will appreciate a support like a coco coir pole or trellis. However, it can also be grown to spread up to 3 feet wide with 2 foot long leaves.
Repotting: Repot every 2-3 years or when the plant has outgrown its container.
